The Start of Monthly Dev Logs - FLO Dev Log #1-2


What's up everyone,

My name is Khenan, and I’m building something I’ve dreamed of for years: a world where people can truly live in a fantasy world.

My first step to creating that world is creating a franchise called Flow, and its first chapter is Flow: Last Origins — a single-player character-action roguelite.

⚔️ The First Chapter - Flow: Last Origins

You take down enemies by customizing your combos with attacks you collect and synchronize with gems that alter your stats and the status effects you can apply. The idea is for every fight to feel fast, fluid, and strategic. It’s an action-packed RPG about mastery, rhythm, and transformation.

This game will introduce the core mythos of the FLO universe — its lore, visual identity, and emotional tone. It’s the spark that begins the long-term vision.

🜂 The Vision Behind Flow and Plot Armor Studios

Plot Armor Studios is about kindling the wonder of high fantasy and renaissance culture into modern life.

I envision a society where it's normal to wear pieces of armor on casual outfits and carry around swords. In order to do that I know I must start small, but I am ready to work this vision up to something big.

Through Flow, I want to help people connect with their imagination, community, and self-realization — to make fantasy not just an escape, but a way of life.

🌍 The Culmination: FLO Online

The main vehicle of my vision is the long-term goal of this franchise: FLO Online, a full-scale MMO built around living a fantasy life with others while forging your role in a shared world shaped by creativity, cooperation, and artistry.

I plan to build a full-time team for FLO Online by following a clear seven-step roadmap:

  1. Build a solid demo for Flow: Last Origins
  2. Build a passionate following around the project
  3. Pitch the first game to publishers and secure publishing support
  4. Establish a core team to develop and scale production
  5. Grow Plot Armor Studios through the release of Flow: Last Origins
  6. Expand the studio and brand to create a variety of games set in the Flow universe, all themed around the isekai genre
  7. Build funding to begin full development on FLO Online, the MMO that brings it all together

I started a Patreon for FLO because I want to build with the people who believe in this world. Your support will help me prototype gameplay systems, write lore, commission art, and gradually expand the FLO universe piece by piece.

If you love anime, action RPGs, and the feeling of stepping into a world that feels alive and meaningful, you’re in the right place. I draw my core inspirations from Avatar: The Last Airbender, Genshin Impact, Summoners War, and Elsword.

What's Next?

I’m currently developing ways to add mass appeal to the game without compromising on its vision. I did some pretty in-depth research on what kinds of indie dev posts are getting lots of hits on Instagram. I’ve compiled this whole document of small case studies on posts and their content. This led to me setting some key priorities for FLO’s future development:

  1. Focus on developing interesting mechanics around the skills of FLO.
    • I will first be focusing on highlighting creative ways of using Earthbending in FLO to create hooky clips.
  2. Create an interesting boss character that showcases a unique style, some unique combat, or a unique mechanic.

These top two priorities come solely from the goal of creating first impression appeal for FLO to an audience of players who like anime, action RPGs, Avatar: The Last Airbender, Genshin Impact, and more.

The only problem is having the resources like animations & audio to get these done. I am looking into how to get these priorities addressed.

Here's how this will work:

Patrons that are subscribed to a paid patron tier will get access to monthly FLO demo builds on 4th Sunday of every month (even if it bleeds into the next month).
